Chicago Restaurant Week Expands to Help Hotels

For the first time, Chicago Restaurant Week has expanded to include some of the city’s top hotels. As part of a new campaign to draw guests and help boost finances of hotels hurting throughout the pandemic. The Chicago’s tourism arm has unveiled “Lunch Is On Us,” a promotion that runs from March 19 through April 4. Customers who book an overnight package will receive $50 in dining credits which amounts to a Restaurant Week lunch for two.

COVID-19 attendance restrictions have been slightly loosened for kindergarten through high school extracurricular events, and the changes come right at the start of the high school boys soccer and football seasons.
According to the latest sports safety guidance posted on the Illinois Department of Public Health’s website any gatherings of up to 20% capacity are allowed when an event is outdoors. Indoor events such as boys and girls basketball, boys swimming and diving, bowling and volleyball still can only have 50 spectators.

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the Citizens Utility Board will hold a series of events to help provide information about assistance programs in the state.
TheLow Income Home Energy Assistance Program has $100 million in funding available to help those struggling with utility bills.
The virtual events at 6 p.m. Thursday and March 15 are free, but registration is necessary. Details are available at Facebook.com/CUBIllinois.

Applications are available at any C.E.F.S. Outreach Office, High School Counselor, IETC, local colleges and our web site at www.cefseoc.org. Completed applications with all necessary documentation must be received in the County Outreach Office by 4:00p.m. April 1, 2021.
Applicants are screened for eligibility after the deadline. A committee ofC.E.F.S. Board of Directors and staff will interview the eligible applicants prior to choosing the winners. Scholarship funds will be available for the FY2

/22 school year.
