Committee agrees to refund fees to certain liquor license holders Charles Bolinger, charles.bolinger@edwpub.net FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE As discussed earlier this year, the city has been planning to refund fees it assesses for Class B, C and G2 liquor license holders for the 2020 calendar year that are still selling or serving alcohol as of Dec 15, the anticipated date of the related resolution’s passage. The finance committee discussed and voted in favor of the resolution at its Tuesday meeting. Finance Director Jeanne Wojcieszak said the total amount refunded is $40,000. The exception is any such establishment found liable for city ordinance violations in 2020.

(Shutterstock) YORKVILLE, IL Yorkville businesses can apply for grants of up to $20,000 total to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 as of Thursday, Dec. 10. Businesses can receive funding from any combination of four grant programs: The Rental Assistance Grant provides up to $5,000 for businesses struggling to pay rent because of the pandemic. The Restart Grant provides up to $5,000 in working capital for businesses to reopen following a temporary closure or substantially reduced hours, including expenses related to inventory, payroll and improvements related to complying with Illinois DCEO COVID-19 mitigation guidelines.
