Former Spencer Homes employee alleges retaliatory discharge

Brunton EDWARDSVILLE A former employee of Spencer Homes claims he was fired in retaliation for filing a workers compensation claim and for seeking medical treatment after suffering a work-related injury.    Jordan Ford filed a complaint Dec. 22 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Spencer Homes LLC, alleging retaliatory discharge.  According to the complaint, Ford was employed by Spencer Homes. He claims that on Dec. 4, 2018, he suffered a work-related injury while working on a home being built by Spencer. He requested Illinois Workers Compensation benefits following his injury. However, he claims he was fired on Dec. 26, 2018, in retaliation for seeking medical treatment and workers compensation.
