EDWARDSVILLE An Illinois company that required fingerprint scans from its employees is facing a lawsuit alleging violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
Partrick Scott, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint Feb. 11 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Keyser Enterprises Inc., alleging violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
Scott alleges in his complaint that as an employee of Keyser Enterprises, he was required to clock in and out using his fingerprint scan. He claims Keyser never informed him of the specific purposes or length of time that his biometric information would be collected and stored. Scott also alleges the defendant failed to inform him about the company s data retention policy.
