This means one thing. They are in late stages of negotiation with the G as usually a huge flurry of negotiations and work then an Indictment or it goes away. This far along and this much legal work I suspect it’s an Indictment.

Illinois’ lawmaker districts at the state and federal level are diced into jurisdictions by a process triggered by reapportionment. Once the president and Congress receive the decennial Census figures, they’re forwarded to each state. The clock then begins for either an independent commission or the ruling political party to rearrange the districts according to population.

Movers were reportedly moving items out of former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan’s apartment in Springfield’s Lincoln Towers fueling speculation he may soon resign from the Illinois House of Representatives all together.
First tweeted by WCIA reporter Mark Maxwell yesterday afternoon, Maxwell said Madigan staffers were clearing apartment furniture out of the apartment. Madigan spokesman Steve Brown later confirmed to reporters that Madigan’s apartment, one he’s occupied for 40 years, is now vacant. Brown told reporters that he no longer needs the apartment and will likely stay in hotels for session days. Brown told reporters that he had not heard whether Madigan is discussing a resignation at this time.
Multiple media sources are reporting that state Rep. Emanuel "Chris" Welch (7th) is now in the mix as a possible successor to Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan, who suspended his campaign for House Speaker of the 102nd General Assembly on Jan. 11.
