NORTH PROVIDENCE – First it was late spring, then maybe summer, then we heard fall might see better times. Surely, Christmas wouldn’t be impacted?
But 2020 is ending as some feared when COVID-19 first emerged in Rhode Island 10 months ago, with even favorite holidays thrown out of whack as the virus came back in waves.

Middle Township vs Lower Cape May Regional 25th annual Anchor Bowl
LOWER TOWNSHIP â Capt. William Priole will assume command of the Police Department as chief effective Friday, following the retirement of Chief William Mastriana, the township said Tuesday.
Priole was hired by the Police Department in fall 1991 and graduated from the county Police Academy in February 1992, the township said in a news release. He was a member of the departmentâs Fatal Crash Investigation Team and was once awarded Officer of the Year. He was cited as instrumental in plans to renovate the townshipâs public safety building and create a countywide dispatch program.

LEWISTOWN Zach Hesketh and Alex Haines grew up together in Mifflin County. They went to Lewistown Area High School, playing sports together and graduating together. They both completed nursing school and work in their hometown.
For Christmas, they and others who have signed on to help them go beyond medicine with one small patient. This year, their aim is to double that holiday spirit.
It all started for the pair five Christmases past, when they took it upon themselves to raise money for a family in need specifically, for a family whose child needed their treatment in the previous year.
