Hello, PhilSys! DepEd taps student-leaders to amplify the National ID campaign

(Photo from DepEd) “As our youth are digital natives who are adept in navigating online tools, we saw this opportunity to bring our student leaders at the forefront for the national campaign for Philippine Identification System that will help their fellow youth and Filipinos to access public services,” said Education Secretary Leonor Briones in a statement issued Thursday, May 6. In line with its commitment to provide learners better public services and opportunities, DepEd spearheaded the national orientation on the PhilSys for Student Government Officers early this week. “We are engaging our youth leaders in our National ID program to provide them better knowledge on its benefits, which includes having wider access to education and public services,” Briones said.

FDCP initiates Kidlat Tahimik short film competition

He said, “Para sa akin, magandang catalyzer ito bilang pang-udyok para maka-focus tayo on heroism but also maybe redefine it: ‘Ano ba talaga ang heroism?’”  According to Kidlat, 78, heroes aren’t the only ones found in books. It could be anybody.

Looking for unsung heroes - BusinessWorld

BusinessWorld FDCP and Nat’l Artist Kidlat Tahimik join forces in short film tilt SMALL acts of kindness and heroism are often overlooked, with some of these stories known only to one person or local community. Those stories can now be told in film through Kidlat Tahimik’s Unsung Sariling Bayani (USB) Short Film Competition. Local manufacturers get assistance from DepEd through school-based feeding program

During the Central Office’s visit to the Schools Division of Rizal and Antipolo City, DepEd-Bureau of Learner Support Service (BLSS) OIC Director Lope Santos III explained how schools and local food producers coordinate to provide food commodities to the learners under the SBFP. Santos explained that small and medium enterprises that supply nutritious food products to students were certified and accredited Department of Science and Technology – Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI).
