DHAKA, April 28, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Zahid Ahsan Russell MP today paid homage at the grave of Shaheed Sheikh Jamal, son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on the occasion of his 68th birthday.
The State Minister paid a rich tribute by placing a wreath at Sheikh Jamal’s Banani grave in the capital after zuhr prayer. At this time, a special prayer was offered seeking peace of his departed soul.
Private secretary to the State Minister Abu Naser Bhuiyan, National Sports Council deputy director and chairman’s personal secretary Rasheduzzaman Serniabat, Youth Development Department deputy director (administration) Mokhlesur Rahman and other officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports were present at the time.

Los Angeles County should invest at least $100 million for community development and
alternatives to incarceration next fiscal year.
That s the recommendation of the county CEO, who will present the 2021-22 budget to the Board of Supervisors Tuesday morning.
The spending is stipulated in Measure J, the charter amendment voters approved last November that requires the county to dedicate at least 10% of its locally generated, unrestricted general fund to reimagined public safety models such as youth programs and mental health services
It was passed with the support of nonprofits and civil rights groups that urged county leaders to divest resources from law enforcement and prisons.

Garcetti s budget for the fiscal year that begins on July 1 includes $24 million for a Guaranteed Basic Income pilot, which he said will be the largest of any U.S. city. The program will give $1,000 a month to 2,000 low- income families for a year no questions asked, Garcetti said.
