“I’ve seen all the Drag Race series and there’s not been one like it yet.”
After talking with Cherry Valentine, our hype levels for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK have soared through the mother
tucking roof.
During our conversation with the entire season two cast for our digital cover last year, the Manchester-born performer declared the season as the franchise’s all-time best.
“I would describe it as iconic, fabulous, brilliant,” Cherry laughed over Zoom.
“Honestly, it’s probably the best series I’ve ever seen, and I’ve not even seen it yet. I’ve seen all the Drag Race series and there’s not been one like it yet, without a doubt.”
RuPaul will reportedly host
The queen of drag is said to be quarantining in Auckland, New Zealand – where
Drag Race Australia will film due travel restrictions, according to inside sources.
The New Zealand LGBT+ outlet
Express claimed that RuPaul had checked into a quarantine hotel Thursday (7 January). Representatives for the star did not immediately respond to a request for confirmation.
It’s long been speculated that RuPaul could host an Australian version of the show – her husband, Georges LeBar, is Australian, and the drag icon regularly gushes about her love for the country.
Express also reported that a number of Australian queens have flown to Auckland to compete in the show, and will be joined in the werk room by two Kiwi queens.
Some of
RuPaul’s Drag Race’s most stellar, laugh-out-loud, and poignant moments come from its illustrious roster of guest judges and panellists across the last decade. Leslie Jones basically stole the show on season 12 and became an immediate meme, with fans calling to make her a permanent judge. We’ve had the iconic Chaka Khan – who may or may not have known exactly where she was – and then there was Lady Gaga (‘Ronnie’) in disguise and an incognito Miley Cyrus, who both shared tender and hilarious moments with the cast, a wisdom-filled Whoopi Goldberg, and the tea-stirring, brutally honest queen Nicki Minaj.
