(March 3, 2021 / JNS) Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said on Tuesday that Israel will develop a “special security arrangement” with its new Gulf allies, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor has announced the Hague will launch a probe into alleged war crimes by Israel in what it termed the “Palestinian territories.”
“The decision to open an investigation followed a painstaking preliminary examination undertaken by my office that lasted close to five years,” outgoing Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda (pictured) said in a statement.
The Palestinian Authority welcomed the decision, which it said was in step with “Palestine’s tireless pursuit of justice and accountability.”
“This is a long-awaited step that serves Palestine’s tireless pursuit of justice and accountability, which are indispensable pillars of the peace the Palestinian people seek and deserve,” the PA foreign ministry said in a statement.
WOMEN’S organisations and social movements have been urged to raise their voices in solidarity with Palestinian feminist Khalida Jarrar, who was jailed for two years by an Israeli court on Monday.
The Samidoun Political Prisoner Solidarity network called for groups to use next week’s International Working Women’s Day to “highlight the struggles, experiences and resistance of Khalida Jarrar, Khitam Saafin and all Palestinian women.
“The Israeli occupation seeks to expand and consolidate its colonisation of Palestine by imprisoning Palestinian people’s leaders like Khalida Jarrar and by its attacks on organisations that defend the Palestinian prisoners and detainees,” it said in a statement.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pointed the finger at Iran for last week’s explosion on board an Israeli-owned cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman. “This was indeed an operation by Iran.
