Replay Video UP NEXT TEL AVIV Jonathan Pollard, a former U.S. Navy analyst who served 30 years in prison for spying on behalf of Israel, landed in Tel Aviv early Wednesday with his wife, ending a tense chapter between the two countries and adding to the list of departing gestures from the Trump administration to the Jewish state. “Blessed are you, lord our God, king of the universe, who has granted us life, sustained us, and enabled us to reach this occasion. I was thrilled to welcome Jonathan and Esther Pollard today upon their arrival in Israel and to give Jonathan an Israeli identity card. Now they are home,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, referencing a common celebratory Jewish prayer.

Pollard and his wife, Esther, landed at Ben Gurion Airport outside of Tel Aviv in the early hours of Wednesday morning on a private jet provided by American Jewish casino-magnate and philanthropist, Sheldon Adelson.
A video shows Pollard kissing the ground upon his arrival in the holy land, a common Jewish custom practiced by new Immigrants to Israel, before being greeted on the tarmac by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
