The daughter of a former Pakistani diplomat was killed in Islamabad Tuesday night, the police said.
The crime took place at a house in F-7/4. She was first shot and then slaughtered, the investigating officer said. Another person was injured in the attack as well. A man named Zahir Jaffer, who was allegedly involved in the murder, was arrested on the spot and taken to the police station, the Islamabad police tweeted.
A case under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the
Pakistan Penal Code has been registered against Zahir at the Kohsar Police
Station.

Pakistan journalist and former Pemra chairperson Absar Alam has registered a case against unidentified men for opening fire at him in Islamabad Tuesday night.
The FIR, registered at the Shalimar police station, says that Alam was walking in a family park in F-11/2 when he noticed a 28-year-old man. He said that the man was wearing shalwar kameez and tried to hide his face from Alam. When Alam was on his fourth round of the park at 5:40pm, the suspect opened fire at him and escaped. He was shot in the stomach.

Veteran journalist and former Pemra chairman Absar Alam was shot and injured in an attack in Islamabad Tuesday evening, the police said. The former Pemra chairman was on a walk in a park in Islamabad’s F-11 sector when he was shot by unidentified men, according to the police.
Alam was shifted to a hospital where he was in a stable condition, his colleagues said. The veteran journalist sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen. Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has taken notice of the attack and ordered an investigation into it.
