602,600 fined over traffic rules violations Islamabad May 23, 2021 Islamabad : Inspector-General (IG) Islamabad Police Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman has lauded the role of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) for maintaining traffic flow in the city. The IGP took a round of different roads of the city on Saturday to review the efforts and arrangements undertaken by the ITP to avert accidents and maintaining flow of the traffic. He met with officers and jawans during his visit, according to the media wing of the police department. SSP (Traffic) Farrukh Rasheed briefed the IG on the campaigns launched by the police against fancy and non-pattern number plates and vehicles with tinted glasses in the city.

62,684 fine tickets issued over serious violations during ongoing year

Daily Times May 21, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued 62,684 fine tickets overs serious violations during current year including non-implementation of SOPs by transporters against COVID-19, non-completion of routes, misbehavior with passengers, overloading and driving bikes without signals and mirrors. “Strict action will be taken against those transporters violating traffic routes. The purpose is to provide better traffic facilities to the citizen,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Farrukh Rasheed on Friday while reviewing special report submitted by the special teams constituted for implementation of traffic rules. Islamabad May 19, 2021 Islamabad : Inspector-General Police Islamabad, Qazi Jamilur Rehman has ordered action against vehicles with tinted glasses, fancy and non-pattern number plates in the capital city. The action has also been ordered against those preparing such number plates and vendors, according to the officials. According to the details, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have challaned 2,835 vehicle for violating traffic rules and imposed fine of Rs0.849 million. The ITP has intensified action against fancy and non-pattern number plates. Moreover, IGP Islamabad has said that during the last two days, ITP issued 34 challan tickets to driver found over speeding, 126 found without seatbelt, 37 using mobile phone while driving, 543 without helmets, 69 for lane violation, 581 for having fancy and non-pattern number plates, 323 for tinted glasses, 19 for using illegal headlights and illegal parking, 228 for violation of Corona SOPs while 1,208 tickets were issued for miscellaneou

Police to register tenants online Islamabad Our crime correspondent Islamabad : The Islamabad police have decided to register the tenants online, said the officials on Tuesday. According to the officials, Inspector-General Islamabad Police Qazi Jamil ur Rehman would inaugurate the online registration system of the tenants after the Eidul Fitr. The IG Islamabad conducted an online open ‘Kutchery’ at the Islamabad Traffic Police office here where a citizen suggested online registration of the tenants so that they don’t face any problem in getting themselves registered. The IG appreciated the suggestion and immediately agreed to it. According to the officials, the IG has asked the officials concerned to start work on the proposal so that it could be started at the earliest. He said that the police was using all the available resources to reach out to the people and facilitate them.

Islooites demand action against amateur drivers Peshawar April 26, 2021 Islamabad : The citizens of the federal capital on Sunday demanded action against amateur drivers, causing a constant nuisance for the locals, especially during ‘Sehr’ and ‘Iftar’ timings. They urged the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) to tighten noose around such miscreants to avoid mishaps ratio on the federal capital roads and avenues. Amateur drivers are roaming freely on the roads and posing a serious threat to the lives of other commuters, Farhan Ahmed, a motorist said while pointing out slackness of the ITP, which was least bothered to take action against them. “How can a young boy without a driving license be allowed to drive on the roads of Islamabad. Action must be taken against their parents who are not concerned about the safety of their children,” he said while making a call for rectification measures at the earliest.
