IGP reviews annual performance of two wings of police

Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar on Tuesday reviewed the annual performance of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) and Anti-Car Lifting Cell of Islamabad police and directed for effective measures to eradicate crime from the city.
According to details, a meeting presided over by IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar was held to review crime situation in Islamabad and annual performance of CIA and ACLC.
The meeting was attended among others by DIG (Operations), AIG (General), AIG (Special Branch), SSP (CTD), Zonal SPs, SDPO Ramana (Saddar Circle), SHOs of Golra and Ramana police stations and Inspectors as well as Sub-Inspectors of CIA.
IGP lauds legal team for effective performance in Major Laraib murder case

Islamabad : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar khan has appreciated police legal team for their effective performance in Major Laraib murder case and ensuring punishment as per law to those involved in this crime.
Some unidentified persons killed Major Laraib through firing in November 2019 when he was sitting in a park at sector G-10 and also took away his valuables. Following this incident, Karachi Company police registered a case (465/2019) under sections 302/397/411 and 34 PPC and started investigation into the matter.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar khan took notice of this incident and constituted two police teams under supervision of DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed including SP (Saddar), SP (Investigation) and other police officials to trace the culprits. Bid to smuggle narcotics foiled

Islamabad:Tarnol police has foiled a bid to smuggle narcotics from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to down parts of the country and recovered 40 kilogram heroin during checking from a car, a police spokesman said on Monday.
Following direction from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar khan and DIG (Operations), he said that high vigilance is being maintained against those involved in drug peddling and anti-social activities. Owing such efforts, he said that Tarnol police team foiled a bid and recovered huge cache of heroin from a car.
On a tip off, he said that SP (Saddar) Sarfaraz Ahmed Virk constituted a special team under supervision of DSP (Saddar) Sajjad Haider Bukhari for special checking in the area. This team including Station House Officer of Tarnol police station Inspector Muhammad Rasheed, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Khan Marwat and others cordoned off area near old Toll Plaza on motorway and s
