ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court on Friday rejected a petition pertaining to the appointment of special assistants and advisers and upheld an Islamabad High Court verdict in the matter.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Ijazul Ahsan heard the case as Justice Munib Akhtar recused himself.

The two minsters also reviewed accelerating cooperation between the two countries as part of the global fight against COVID-19.

Islamabad : The ideology of Hindutva has totally captured the Indian society as it is becoming increasingly exploitative. Today, India is falling in the pitfalls of extremism and polarization.
This was stated by President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi while addressing the seminar ‘Understanding Hindutva Mindset and Indian Hegemonic Aspirations’ organised by India Study Centre, Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) on Wednesday. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz joined the discussion as guest of honor.
The seminar comprised of two sessions titled, “Mapping Hindutva Mindset” and “Hindutva: Rise of Saffron Terrorism in South Asia.” The two sessions were chaired by Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani and Air Marshal (r) Javaid Ahmed HI(M), VC Air University respectively. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered condolences to PML-N founder Nawaz Sharif on the passing of his mother, Begum Shamim Akhtar, earlier this month,
The Express Tribune has learnt.
Narendra Modi – with whom the elder Sharif has developed personal rapport – sent a condolence letter last week, which was delivered to PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz by the Indian diplomatic mission in Islamabad.
The letter is addressed to “Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, former prime minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”
