Minister lauds IUB plantation initiative National May 19, 2021 BAHAWALPUR: Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul Tuesday said the campuses of Islamia University Bahawalpur are lush green and present the best example of the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign. More than one lakh saplings have been planted on the campuses due to which the university offers a beautiful view. Vice-chancellor Engineer Prof Dr Athar Mahboob, Member National Assembly Zain Mahmood Qureshi and religious scholar Hamid Saeed Kazmi were also present. Zartaj said she had recently visited the university and on this occasion, she was impressed by the beauty of the university, the faculty and the warmth and dedication of the students.

Daily Times April 5, 2021 Students of Islamia University Bahawalpur FATA have called off their 16-day sit-in outside Governor’s House Lahore after successful negotiation with Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and Deputy Chairman Senate Mirza Muhammad Afridi. Meanwhile, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar announced scholarships for 1000 students annually including 200 girls from FATA, and also announced to set up Punjab University sub-campus in FATA and Government College University, Lahore sub-campus in Gilgit. According to details, students of Islamia University Bahawalpur of FATA held talks with Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar at Governor’s House Lahore on Sunday regarding their demands. National April 5, 2021 LAHORE: A number of ex-Fata students who had been staging a protest sit-in outside Governor House for the last 16 days demanding restoration of scholarships at Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) called off their sit-in after successful negotiation with Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar and Deputy Chairman Senate Mirza Muhammad Afridi on Sunday. Meanwhile, Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar, who is also chancellor of public sector universities of the province, announced scholarships for 1,000 students annually including 200 girls from Fata, and also announced setting up Punjab University sub-campus in Fata and Government College University, Lahore sub-campus in Gilgit. Students of Islamia University Bahawalpur belonging to ex-Fata held talks with Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar at Governor House Lahore on Sunday regarding their demands.
