More Library News: Friends of Linebaugh Library Celebrates 40th Anniversary
Rutherford County, TN Founded in July of 1981, the Friends of Linebaugh Library (FOLL) is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The goals set for the organization in 1981 remain the same: to stimulate interest in enrichment of the resources and facilities of the Linebaugh Public Library; to provide an opportunity for those interested in the library to participate through exhibits, programs, and publications; and to attract bequests and gifts, books, manuscripts, other library materials, and money above and beyond resources of the library. The local library system could receive a additional funding, thanks to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) signed by President Joe Biden.
The total funding from the act nationwide comes in at $1.9-Trillion. The money will be dispersed to a long list of agencies across the country in multiple ways, so details on how library systems like the one in Rutherford County will receive money, is not readily available at this time as different libraries will have to apply to receive funds.

Fundraiser to Help the Library in Eagleville, TN Mar 16, 2021 at 11:03 am by WGNS
A special evening in May will help to raise funds for the local library system. Lance Lee who is part of the Rutherford County Library Foundation Board of Directors stated.
Funds raised this year will go towards the library in Eagleville, which needs updating and eventually more space.
The structure that holds the Eagleville Bicentennial Public Library was constructed as a community center in 1986. It has just under 4,000 square feet of space and the land was originally purchased by the Eagleville Community Library Association in 1977.

(MURFREESBORO) With new safety protocols, Linebaugh Public Library will be reopening to the public beginning Monday, February 8, 2021, with modified hours of operation:
Linebaugh Library (downtown)
Fridays - Saturdays 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Sundays – 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
All visitors will be limited to one 2-hour visit per day and masks will be required.
Visitors to the library will be asked to sign in with their time of arrival and given a paper wristband with the time indicated to wear during their visit. Children with their parents/guardians will not be required to wear a band.
