A CHARITY bringing cosiness to children and young people in north Cumbria has received a generous festive donation to support it. Project Linus North Cumbria is a charitable group that makes and donates incredible quilts to children who need something comforting. The group, run by Vita Collins, has been gifted £1000 by the Pirelli Blue Collar Union and Pirelli Tyres Carlisle. Vita, who lives in Brampton, said: “Unite the Union usually have a Christmas party and pantomime for the children with presents. “But this year, of course because of Covid, they couldn’t do it and they had £2000 to spend. “They phoned one of the social workers or managers in Carlisle and asked to donate the money to.”
