The announcement of the lockdown-like restrictions in Maharashtra from April 5 to April 30, 2021 has dealt a big blow to the cinema industry. The business had just begun to revive with the release of films like
Roohi on March 11 and
Mumbai Saga on March 19. Some very exciting films were lined up for release in April 2021. Most of these releases like
Chehre and
Bunty Aur Babli 2 were pushed ahead even before the state government declared a lockdown. And after the said announcement, the makers of the much awaited
Sooryavanshi, too, made it official that their actioner won’t release as scheduled on April 30.

Bollywood Hungama had reported that the makers of the much awaited film,
Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai, starring Salman Khan, are all set to unveil the theatrical trailer of the actioner in the first week of April 2021. In February, the team of the film had decided to first launch a teaser of the film followed by the trailer. But the plan was changed and instead of a teaser, a new poster of the film was launched on March 13, that is, exactly two months before the film’s release. This poster featured only Salman Khan and it got fabulous feedback. The idea is now to follow up with a grand, exciting theatrical trailer which would further up the film’s buzz.

During pre-Covid times, all Bollywood films mandatorily followed the eight-week rule when it came to digital release. In other words, a film could release on an OTT platform only after 8 weeks of its theatrical release. Post-lockdown, the filmmakers however have been demanding for shortening of this window.
