Summit County COVID-19 numbers are trending downward, and with vaccination and incident rates continuing to improve, the county could see another loosening of restrictions as early as next week.
Summit County Public Health Director Amy Wineland provided officials with an update on the county’s coronavirus situation during a meeting with the Board of Health on Thursday, April 29, sharing some positive news on the area’s progress.
The county’s seven-day cumulative incidence rate dropped to 96.8 new cases per 100,000 residents this week, which brings the metric into level green on the county’s dial. Summit County is currently in level yellow. In order to go to level blue, the county must fully vaccinate 60% of the population and have a seven-day cumulative incidence rate of 250 or fewer cases per 100,000 residents. Summit County Public Health is offering COVID-19 vaccine pop-up clinics for the next two weeks. No appointment is necessary to attend a pop-up clinic.
The pop-up clinics are set to run from May 3 to 15 at locations throughout the county.
Monday, May 3 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Firestone Community Center
Thursday, May 6 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Summit Lake Community Center
Friday, May 7 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Barberton City Block 7 (purple lot across from McDonald s)

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - Summit County residents will be able to get the COVID-19 vaccination without scheduling an appointment at several different pop-up locations.
Summit County Public Health officials are opening up the clinics on May 3.

Some 24% of people living in Kent County are fully vaccinated as of April 27, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The CDC considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they ve been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).
Delaware reported 103,603 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 2% from the week before.
Kent County has the lowest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in Delaware as of April 27.
