Credit: Summit Co Sheriff Dept Author: WKYC Staff Updated: 12:12 PM EST January 14, 2021 SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio On Thursday morning, the Summit County Sheriff s Office announced the arrest of a Springfield Township man in connection to stolen machinery and the assault of a police officer.  According to a press release, on January 12, Summit County deputies and Ohio State Troopers were made aware of suspected stolen property that was being stored at a home on Proctor Road in Springfield Township. Officials, including the Summit County SWAT team and local deputies, executed a search of the property at that time.

PARK CITY Summit County officials say a 31-year-old Clinton man died Friday after being buried in an avalanche on backcountry slopes near Park City. He was identified Monday as Kevin Jack Steuterman, Summit County Sheriff Justin Martinez said in a tweet. Our hearts break for the Steuterman family and friends, Martinez said. According to a news release from Summit County Sheriff s Lt. Andrew Wright, authorities received word about the avalanche in the Dutch Draw area about 10:09 a.m. The caller said she saw her boyfriend try to snowboard down steep backcountry terrain when the avalanche began and caught him up.

Man dies in Park City backcountry avalanche and last updated 2021-01-11 21:02:57-05 SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — A 31-year-old Clinton man died after being buried in an avalanche in Summit County Friday morning. The man, who was later identified as Kevin Jack Steuterman according to an obituary, was snowboarding with his girlfriend in an area called Dutch Draw near Park City Mountain Canyons Village when he triggered the avalanche. The girlfriend was able to call authorities and say she had witnessed her boyfriend buried after attempting to snowboard down the terrain. According to The Park Record, the couple rode the Ninety Nine 90 lift to the backcountry lift.
