UDUPI: Udupi administration fielded its big guns to open the second innings of the vaccination programme against Covid-19 pandemic that got under way at four centres across the district on Monday.
While deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha took the first jab, Dr Y Naveen Bhat, chief executive officer, Udupi zilla panchayat and Kumarchandra, additional SP lined up next to send out a clear intent of the administration that they meant business.
The deputy commissioner said, Administration had prepared a list of 4,040 personnel who will receive the vaccine in the second phase to be held over the next five days. These include 1888 policemen, 357 employees of urban affairs department, 569 from revenue department, 1210 from rural development and panchayati raj department and 16 from panchayati raj engineering division.

They had one request to him – to issue separate RTCs to the 22.93 acres of patta land in their possession which the 180 members have orally divided among themselves.

UDUPI: The potential linked credit plan (PLP) prepared by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for Udupi district for the financial year 2021-22 envisages exploitable credit potential of Rs 8867.28 crore. This is 6.18% higher than the projection for the financial year 2020-21. Special emphasis has been laid on crop loans, Kisan credit cards for animal husbandry and fisheries activities, education loans.
