UT Health San Antonio officials recommend people who feel sick with mountain cedar allergies stay home during the holidays. Cedar Fever can cause allergic symptoms similar to COVID-19, like a cough and runny nose. UT Health said in a news release it s concerned that people will accidentally spread COVID-19, assuming their symptoms are simply from allergies. It can be tough to tell the difference, said Dr. Claudia Miller, allergist-immunologist and professor emeritus in the UT Health San Antonio Department of Family and Community Medicine. We want people to be safe. I would hate for someone to assume they just have allergies and then expose a loved one to COVID-19.
