In a two-day period, Utah has added three new players to its roster from the transfer portal.
After a depletion to its wide receiver room earlier in the year with Bryan Thompson and Samson Nacua transferring out, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said he'd be looking to the transfer portal in the offseason to add depth to the roster at receiver.
On Thursday afternoon, Whittingham made that possible when the program added Theo Howard, a former Oklahoma and UCLA receiver, who should add instant talent to the pool of players vying for a starting role this season. Howard joins the program as a "super senior" after spending his senior season at Oklahoma. He has one year to play.

The breaking of that white plane, that difficult barrier to cross in an effort to score on one's opponent, traditionally evokes strong emotions of praise and celebration during a game. But on Wednesday, it became a symbolic end to a life gone too soon.
Ty Jordan's final touchdown.
"The simplest thing I can say is that I love Ty, and I miss him," Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said as he fought back his emotions on a day when friends and family, and those who never even really knew the young star personally, honored him in a celebration of life in person and virtually.

SALT LAKE CITY — At just 19 years old, Utah star Ty Jordan was taken from this world far too soon.
In one truncated, five-game season, the University of Utah standout running back touched thousands of lives, rushing for 597 yards and six touchdowns in a season that was on the brink of being shelved before returning for a shortened season amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Now, just three days after his untimely death by an accidental gunshot wound, several groups of people have found ways to honor the memory of the late Utes running back.
