A number of test case lawsuits are expected to be filed shortly by restaurants whose insurers have refused to pay out for business interruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite a landmark ruling in a case involving FBD that pub owners were entitled to be compensated for the disruption to their businesses, hundreds of restaurants, cafes and hotels have been unable to successfully claim from their insurers.
They include businesses with so-called business combined policies, which provide cover where there is an outbreak of disease on a premises.
In the FBD case, the polices provided cover for an imposed closure of the businesses following the outbreak of disease within 25 miles of the premises.

The news comes as it was announced we could get 2.2million doses of the new Johnson & Johnson vaccine, while the AstraZeneca jab has been approved for all ages
