SINGAPORE - Hair salon Tresses Studio in Ghim Moh and many other businesses are set for customers to check in using only TraceTogether when it becomes compulsory for contact tracing from Monday (May 17).
The salon has already installed a SafeEntry Gateway Box, a new device that allows visitors to do a SafeEntry check-in at the entrance by tapping the TraceTogether token or a phone app against the box.
This is ahead of the June 15 deadline for more public venues to have the gateway system in place as another way for visitors to check in besides scanning QR codes with the TraceTogether app or scanning the token.

AirAsia s food delivery platform airasia food has hit the ground in Singapore, charging a commission rate of 15% to merchants which group CEO Tony Fernandes touts as the lowest commission rate in town . The platform was initially launched last May as OURFOOD but rebranded to airasia food as part of airasia.com s super app.
As part of the launch in the Singapore market, airasia food is on the hunt for F&B operators to sign up as merchants, offering a special sign-on rate as low as 8% for the month of March. According to Fernandes, this enables merchants to earn more while having full control over their menu, pricing and easy access to data aside from being able to communicate directly with their customers.
SINGAPORE - While Covid-19 might have dented the food and beverage business last year, eateries enjoyed a burst of activity in December, with more bookings made compared with a year ago, before the pandemic struck.
Food and beverage players said it reflects a recovery in consumer confidence and is likely a result of Covid-19 affecting year-end plans, including travel.
The actual impact on sales is still not clear as official figures for December are not available yet. But online dining booking site Chope Singapore said that reservations placed on its platform jumped 41 per cent last month from a year ago.
