APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Extremely cold weather has forced the cancellation of some Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin distributions.
The organization says four Farmers to Families distributions scheduled this week will not take place.
Distributions were to be held Tuesday at the Waushara County Fairgrounds, Wednesday at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and Oshkosh West High School and Thursday at Fox Cities Stadium.
All other scheduled distributions will occur as planned, according to the organization.
The latest information about scheduled distributions can be found on the Feeding America website or its Facebook page. ); } return false; }); $( #comments .commentlist .comment-content a ).attr( target , blank );
The state Legislatureâs expected overturning of Wisconsinâs mask mandate, which the Assembly was expected to vote on today, could have the unexpected consequence of the state losing millions in federal food benefits.Â
However, it is likely that while the mandate would still be overturned in the coming days, aid would still be able to flow into Wisconsin should both houses of the Legislature amend their relevant bills. But those amendments may put Gov. Tony Evers in a position where he has to choose between, through a veto, keeping the mask mandate in effect but then potentially costing the state millions of dollars of aid; or allowing the mask mandate to end while enabling that federal funding to continue flowing into Wisconsin.

Schneider (NYSE: SNDR), a premier provider of transportation and logistics services, has found a unique way to help food pantries in Northeast Wisconsin provide for those in need. The company recently donated a refrigerated trailer to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, the state’s largest hunger-relief organization. The 53-foot trailer will be used to transport fresh produce and other perishables.
“Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is a critical resource in our community,” said LuEllen Oskey, executive director of the Schneider Foundation. “We know that the use of food pantries during the pandemic has, sadly, grown exponentially, and we wanted to do our part to help. Giving them a safe, reliable refrigerated trailer that can get food to our neighbors more quickly was something we were excited to do.”
