Saranac-based Herbruckâs Poultry Ranch, the largest egg producer in Michigan, donated more than 1.6 million eggs in 2020.
The family farm typically donates about 1 million eggs per year, however, the pandemic forced the increase in donations to help families who have been impacted by COVID-19.
âCOVID-19 has affected so many of our local families, and we want to do what we can to support our neighbors,â Herbruckâs President Greg Herbruck said. âBy donating eggs to food banks, we have been able to help ensure families are still getting nutritious food during an extremely challenging time.â

ISHPEMING The West End Health Foundation recently approved $39,900 in grants intended to meet the foundation’s mission of advancing health and wellness in the west end. The grants approved for the fall programmatic grant cycle are intended to support health-related programs and services that will benefit Marquette County’s west end communities, organizers said in an announcement.
Receiving grants were:
≤ Caregivers Incentive Project, $7,500 for the Caregiver Academy and to support mentored in-home training.
≤ Feeding America West Michigan, $6,400 to provide mobile food truck services in Marquette County’s west end.
≤ Ishpeming Negaunee Nice Community Education, $6,000 to support the Beyond 26 program for adults with disabilities.

SARANAC, MI – Michigan’s largest egg producer has been doing its part to help families in need throughout 2020.
Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch in Ionia County announced Wednesday that it donated more than 1.6 million eggs in 2020, a year which brought numerous challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
That number surpasses amounts donated by Herbruck’s in past years, according to a news release.
“COVID-19 has affected so many of our local families, and we want to do what we can to support our neighbors,” said Herbruck’s President Greg Herbruck. “By donating eggs to food banks, we have been able to help ensure families are still getting nutritious food during an extremely challenging time.”
Donations to benefit local hunger programs Friday, December 18, 2020 4:00 AM According to Sandra Van Den Berg of Third Phase, this local charity especially appreciates Ceresâ financial support. âEvery penny will be used to purchase food this year the need has increased by 60% and we expect demand to increase even more this winter. People who used to donate are now in line for our services. Please keep us in your prayers and stay safe!â
Photo provided More than $35,000 in charitable donations has been presented to local food banks and pantries just this season alone thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of local residents who make their living in production agriculture. The donations were given through Ceres Solutions, and were made possible by local farmers and customers who have done business with the company in the last year.
