Simply put, the FAO Investment Centre creates investment solutions in sustainable food and agriculture. The Centre offers a range of investment support services helping countries to create long-term investment policies and plans, to design and implement investment projects with financing partners and to generate knowledge and build capacities related to investment. A distinctive characteristic of the Centre is that it works almost exclusively through partnerships with financial institutions and member country governments.

DHEC Presented with Outstanding Community Leader Award for Efforts to Ensure Food Safety at Restaurants during COVID-19 Pandemic

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) recently received the 2021 Outstanding Community Leader Award (Public Sector) for the agency’s innovative work to assist restaurants in promoting food safety throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The award was presented by the South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association (SCRLA), a statewide organization focused on promoting and educating foodservice and lodging industries, at its annual Stars of the Hospitality Industry Awards Luncheon.

The Manila City government has completed its first wave of distribution of food boxes under its Manila COVID-19 Food Security Program.
At least 250,054 food boxes have been distributed in the city’s first and second districts as of Monday, Feb. 15, data from the city government showed. Distribution began on Feb. 10.
Kenneth Amurao, director of Manila’s Public Services Department, said they are eyeing to finish distribution in the city’s third district today (Feb. 15).
Meanwhile, the distribution in Manila’s fourth and fifth districts is expected to be completed by the end of the week, he added.
