First slot of 2.5 tonnes shipped from APEDA Tirupati facility Banganapalli and Suvarnarekha mango varieties, which have Geographical Indication (GI) tags, will be exported to South Korea from Andhra Pradesh. The first slot of the mango variety was sourced from Krishna and Chittoor districts in Andhra Pradesh was shopped on Thursday.
“In a major boost to India’s mangoes exports in the current season, a consignment of 2.5 tonnes of Banganapalli and Survarnarekha mangoes from Andhra Pradesh were exported to South Korea. The mangoes were treated, cleaned and shipped from the APEDA registered facility at Tirupati,” an APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) statement said.

Apeda has collaborated with Uttarakhand Agriculture Produce Marketing Board and Just Organik In a major boost to exports of organic products from the country, the first consignment of millets grown in Himalayas would be exported to Denmark.
APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority), in collaboration with Uttarakhand Agriculture Produce Marketing Board (UKAPMB) and Just Organik, an exporter, has sourced and processed ragi (finger millet), and jhingora (barnyard millet) from farmers in Uttarakhand for exports, an official statement said on Wednesday.
UKAPMB procured millets directly from the farmers and processed in a modern processing unit built by mandi board and operated by Just Organik.

“In order to facilitate the trade between major importing countries, negotiations are underway with Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Australia, UAE, New Zealand for achieving Mutual Recognition Agreements for exports of Organic products from India.
In terms of quantity, the exports of organic food products grew 39% to 0.88 million metric tonne (MT) in FY21 from 0.63 million MT shipped in 2019-20.
New Delhi: India is in talks with Taiwan, Japan, Australia, UAE and New Zealand to achieve Mutual Recognition Agreements for exports of organic products, the government said Tuesday, adding that the outbound shipments of the country s organic food products rose 51% in FY21 to $1.04 billion.
