On 5 May 2021, the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) of
Thailand rejected a Thai patent application for a granulated powder
tablet containing 6-fluoro-3-hydroxy-2-pyrazinecarboxamide, also
known as Favipiravir, which is a drug used to treat viral
infections including COVID-19. Favipiravir has been used in many
countries including Thailand to treat COVID-19 patients.
With the spiking numbers of COVID-19 infections, demand for

Missouri s Senate advanced Senate Bill 63 this week in a move to become
the last state in the Nation to create a Prescription Drug
Monitoring Program ( PDMP ). The bill would establish a
Joint Oversight Task Force for Prescription Drug Monitoring, if
adopted by the House of Representatives and signed by Governor
Parson.
The Task Force would be required to contract with a vendor to
operate the PDMP. Further, the state run PDMP would supersede
any local or county PDMP, such as St.

On January 12, 2021, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker signed
into law Bill S2841 amending Chapter 138 of the General Laws by
inserting Sec. 25E 1/2. Under M.G.L.A. 138 § 25E ½ a brewery may, without good cause, terminate the right of a
licensed wholesaler to whom such brewery has made regular sales of
malt beverages subject to the provisions of this section.
In order to qualify, breweries must produce less than 240,000
barrels of beverages in a year.
Breweries must provide the affected wholesaler no less than 30
