Food Network star Guy Fieri has expanded his “Flavortown” brand into Upstate New York for the first time.
The “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” host has opened a delivery-only restaurant service called Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen in the Capital Region town of Colonie. It’s the chain’s second location in the state, along with a Times Square restaurant in New York City.

When I was a child, my mother taught me how to cook by demonstration. Most times she just wanted me to wash the dishes, but even with my back turned and my arms elbow deep in warm, soapy water, she explained everything she was doing to prepare my favorite feast, be it gumbo during the holidays, rice and gravy on a Sunday, or any of her mid-week meals, like red beans and rice or jambalaya, for which I had a special affinity.
As I got older she allowed me to help more by seasoning the food, chopping the vegetables, and telling me why she did what she did in the kitchen. But it wasn’t until I was out of the house, living in my post-undergrad apartment, that she actually gave up the recipe goods.
Justin Warner is a Food Network Star who's been getting the attention of New York's trendy (if capricious) tastebuds from his Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, restaurant Do or Dine. The restaurant's DIY aesthetic, which pairs the better parts of bohemian living with hip hop couture, features unconventional dishes like a foie gras doughnut and banana split-pea soup. A whole arsenal of other cleverly named options have made Do or Dine an essential stop for foodies and people who just like to eat without having to give a shit about cleansing their pallets and whatnot.
