We re not sore losers. We re bad losers.
Toronto (0-2-1) looks for its first victory Wednesday against defending champion Columbus SC (1-0-2) in a matchup between two clubs that have had to balance MLS and Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League play while dealing with a lengthy injury list.
The good news is Toronto s training room is beginning to empty. But reigning league MVP Alejandro Pozuelo is still working his way back from a thigh injury suffered before an April 2 pre-season game against Columbus. The Spanish playmaker, adept at unlocking opposition defences and making his teammates better, has been sorely missed.

Being winless three games into the MLS season for the first time since 2012 is not sitting well with Toronto FC. We want to win. This is a room full of winners, coach Chris Armas said with passion Tuesday. When you look around the room, this is what it is. And I m with those guys.
Defending MLS champion Crew seek first win vs. D.C. United
Field Level Media
Undermanned D.C. United will play at underwhelming MLS Cup champion Columbus on Saturday afternoon.
The Crew (0-0-2, 2 points) are trying to avoid becoming the second team in MLS history to start the season with three scoreless draws, according to the league s website. The Colorado Rapids did it in 2015.
D.C. United (1-2-0, 3 points) has struggled to field a competitive team because of injuries, having 13 of its 30 players unavailable for the 4-1 loss at San Jose on May 1.
There s a good chance D.C. United will have fewer than the maximum nine available substitutes against Columbus.

The last few remaining healthy D.C. United players left face a massive challenge today, as they take on the defending MLS Cup champion Columbus Crew in what will be the Black-and-Red’s last visit to Historic Crew Stadium. United, who are missing nearly half of their roster at the moment due to injuries, will have to dig very deep to repeat last fall’s stunning victory over the Crew.
Key player: Frederic Brillant
One of the last few United players who has not had some kind of injury this year, Brillant is going to have to provide error-free leadership on top of being severely tested in terms of his own defending. The Crew may be goalless in MLS this season, but if you look at their projected lineup, that’s not going to last forever. They’ve got some serious attacking talent, including a potential Best 11 playmaker and a USMNT striker; they’re not champions by accident.
