FIR against 92 teachers in UP for using fake documents to get job

An FIR has been registered in Uttar Pradesh s Balrampur district against 92 government teachers for allegedly submitting forged educational certificates to get the job. The FIR was lodged at the Kotwali police station in Balrampur under the charges of dishonesty and fraudulently using genuine documents. The fraud was detected during a probe by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (upstf). Circle Officer Varun Mishra said that the FIR was filed on the basis of a complaint of the basic education officer Ramchandra. Mishra said the teachers had been working since 2010 in the district. They had procured the marksheets of candidates who had qualified but were working in some other district.

Speaking at Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur, Owaisi tried to cast the BJP government as anti-Muslim as he accused the Chief Minister of having a selective approach of conducting encounters of criminals in the state. Owaisi claimed that Muslims are being killed in encounters by the police in Uttar Pradesh. He said that out of 6,475 encounters of the criminals that took place in the state between 2017 and 2020, 37 per cent were Muslims.

CPJ noted that 21 journalists were killed in retaliation for their work in 2020, compared to 10 in the previous year. The murder of two Indian journalists, Rakesh Singh and Shubham Mani Tripathi, both killed in Uttar Pradesh, were also mentioned in the report. It also noted that a total of 30 journalists have died between 1 January and 15 December, of which 21 were killed in retaliation for their work, three died in crossfire and six deaths took place during dangerous assignments. One media worker was also killed during this period.
