UP: 30 people arrested for performing exorcism on women in Prayagraj
As many as 30 people were arrested by UP s Daraganj police on Sunday for allegedly performing exorcism on women in Prayagraj district.

Daraganj police on Sunday arrested thirty persons for allegedly performing exorcism on women in Uttar Pradesh s Prayagraj district.
The accused are residents of UP s Mahoba and Chattarpur districts and conducted the rituals at the bank of Sangam river, police said.
They would allegedly beat women and pull their hair under the pretext of casting away the influence of evil spirits from them.

Incessant rainfall in Uttar Pradesh s Prayagraj has forced a halt to cremations along the Phaphamau ghat of the Ganga river.
The Prayagraj administration had earlier decided to cremate the bodies along the banks to prevent them from floating downstream. In the last 24 days, the municipal corporation cremated 150 bodies.

India recorded 48,698 coronavirus cases and 1,183 deaths in the last 24 hours, data from the health ministry showed on Saturday. With this, the country’s overall count of infections since the pandemic broke out in 2020 rose to 3,01,83,143. The toll increased to 3,94,493.
