SALT LAKE CITY Utah s number of COVID-19 cases increased by 224 on Tuesday, with 11 more deaths and 11,284 vaccinations reported, according to the Utah Department of Health.
Eight of the deaths reported Tuesday occurred before April 11 but were still being investigated by state medical examiners, the health department said.
There are now an estimated 7,814 active COVID-19 cases in Utah, according to the health department. The rolling seven-day average number of positive cases per day is now at 327, according to the health department. The positive test rate per day for that time period calculated with the people over people method is now 6.5%. The positive test rate per day for that time period calculated with the test over test method is now 3.6%.

SALT LAKE CITY â Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall signed an executive order that will continue to require masks to be worn in city facilities.
All city employees will be required to wear masks inside city buildings and vehicles. Face coverings must also be worn by visitors to city facilities.
âIâm committed to keeping our City team healthy, and ensuring the members of the public we interact with stay safe, said Mendenhall in a statement. Our Cityâs transmission and vaccination data, coupled with the advice of the CDC to continue wearing masks indoors tells me that we need to keep doing what has worked â wearing masks.â
