Eleven guns that were stolen in Oklahoma were recovered in Salina after a joint investigation between two law enforcement agencies.
The Saline County Sheriff s Office said Tuesday that it received a call from the Payne County Sheriff s Office out of Stillwater, Oklahoma, that several weapons stolen in a gun safe during an aggravated burglary in that jurisdiction may now be located in Salina.
During the investigation it was determined that an individual in Oklahoma may have brought the guns to Salina and given them to an individual here.
Thursday, the Saline County Sheriff s Office executed a search warrant at 920 Pearl Ave. and recovered one of the guns. Further investigation led the office to another Salina residence where it recovered 10 more. During the search, the office also found methamphetamine, a hallucinogen and drug paraphernalia.
A court proceeding in the case of a Marshall man facing felony charges after an alleged assault to a farm hand on February 28, 2020 has been rescheduled.
During the morning hours of February 28, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in regards to an assault that had taken place on a farm facility just south of Marshall Junction where the victim reportedly suffered fractures and facial trauma as a result of the assault at the hands of 42-year-old Aaron Smith.
Smith has been charged with a Class B Felony for Assault in the First Degree. The court amended Smith’s bond on September 25 to $50,000 cash or surety if he chooses to travel to Indiana.
