UMATILLA COUNTY â A Walla Walla, Washington, man was flown by Life Flight to a hospital after crashing his snow bike, according to the Umatilla County Sheriff s Office.
A news release stated that the Umatilla County Dispatch center received a 911 call after 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, stating Eric Burmood, 63, of Walla Walla, had crashed his Honda snow bike and was suffering from severe injuries.
The crash took place on Summit Road USFS 31, about 8 miles southwest of Highway 204.
The caller, Matt Sweeney, also of Walla Walla, reported he was administering first aid but requested Life Flight to respond because of the nature of the injuries and the snowy conditions at the scene of the crash. According to the news release, two USCOÂ snow patrol deputies arrived on scene at about 6:20 p.m., Umatilla County Search and Rescue was activated in case additional help was needed, and Life Flight was able to transport Burmood via air ambulance to Providence St. Mary Medical Center
PENDLETON â Police arrested a woman on Sunday, Feb. 14, who is alleged to have been involved in a January assault of a man in Hermiston, according to a public information officer from the Umatilla County Sheriffâs Office.Â
Rebecca Ann Mayes, 29, was arrested by deputies shortly after 1:30 p.m. at the Space Age Travel Station on Highway 207 in Hermiston after an investigation by the sheriffâs office showed probable cause that Mayes allegedly assaulted a man on Jan. 22.Â
Hermiston police also arrested Kelly Chapman on Jan. 31 in connection with the assault.Â
The victim reported to police that he was punched and kicked multiple times by multiple people at a home on Joy Lane in Hermiston. The victim said his attackers took his backpack, which contained tools, cash and other items.
