Jigawa: NYSC to deploy 90% of Corps members to rural schools On Kindly Share This Story: The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Jigawa, on Monday, says that henceforth, 90 per cent of corps members in the state will be deployed to rural schools. The new NYSC state Coordinator, Hajiya Aishatu Adamu, made this known when she paid a courtesy visit to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse. NAN reports that Adamu, who assumed duty on April 8, was in NAN, as part of her courtesy visits to critical stakeholders of NYSC in the state. “I wish to state that as long as I’m here, I will ensure that 90 per cent of corps members are distributed equitably to schools that need their services, for the rapid development of education sector in the state,” she said.

Punch Newspapers Sections OLADIMEJI RAMON Access Bank Plc says it has paid N240m in tax to the Kaduna State Government in demonstration of its commitment to the amicable resolution of a tax dispute between it and the state. A statement on Saturday by Charles Igbinidu said Access Bank had dragged Kaduna State before the Tax Appeal Tribunal to challenge the state’s demand for N618,191,008.91. The statement, however, said the parties had commenced moves to settle the dispute amicably, hence the decision by Access Bank to pay Kaduna State N240m. The statement was titled, ‘Tax Disputes: Access Bank Seeks Amicable Resolution, Pays N240m to Kaduna State’.

Edo: PDP congratulates Gov Obaseki for defeating APC in certificate forgery case

Godwin Obaseki on his victory at the Federal High Court, Abuja in the alleged certificate forgery suit. The APC and one of its chieftains, Mr Williams Edobor had dragged Obaseki to court for allegedly forging the University of Ibadan degree certificate he submitted to INEC to aid his qualification for the Sept. 19, 2020 governorship election in Edo. The plaintiffs asked the court to disqualify Obaseki and his party from the polls in the event that Obaseki was found to have forged his University of Ibadan degree certificate obtained in 1979.
