Updated Jan 22, 2021;
A Central Massachusetts resident has tested positive for the new, more contagious strain of the coronavirus, Worcester City Manager Edward Augustus Jr. said on Thursday.
The resident traveled to the United Kingdom during the holidays and became symptomatic on Jan. 4, Augustus said. They were tested on Jan. 5 at UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester.
“As health experts continue to monitor the situation, it remains critically important to continue to wear masks,” Augustus said. “Continue to do the social distancing and stay home.”

Remember the video I shared last week showing a Karen who got punched in the face after attacking a black girl in D.C. at the Trump Rally the night before the Capital riot? The black girl was surrounded by a large crown of Trump supporters yelling racist remarks and harassing her, then Karen attempts to escalate the situation by trying grab the black girl, only to get punched in the face in self defense. Then, Karen tried to play victim claiming Black Lives Matter attacked her? Check it out below.
Now, that Karen has been identified and outed by her own daughter! Theresa Duke is the bloodied woman in he video. We know this after her teen daughter, Helena Duke, age 18, outed her mother, aunt and uncle on Twitter as the persons involved in the attack on the black girl at the Capital DC Riot! She wrote via quoting the video of her bloodied mother stating:
A teen who outed her mother as a participant in the Capitol Hill riot is gaining national attention and raising money to go to college. Helena Duke, age 18, of Central Massachusetts, has told the story of how she publicly outed her mom o.
The health-care provider has since
issued a statement on Twitter, which reads: Over the past 24 hours we have received numerous expressions of concern through social media regarding a UMass Memorial caregiver who may have been involved in this week s violent events at the nation s capitol. The employee in question is no longer a part of our organization.
Duke confirmed that her mother lost her job, because she does work at a hospital and she obviously went to a protest with many people and she wasn t wearing a mask.
As It Happens was unable to reach Therese Duke for comment, and she hasn t spoken publicly since her daughter identified her.
