A Waikato man is facing an additional charge of manslaughter after a family violence incident last month.
The 42-year-old, who has had name suppression, was arrested after a man died and others were injured in the incident near Morrinsville on March 16.

A man has pleaded not guilty to a manslaughter charged laid almost a month after a fatal family harm incident. The 42-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in Hamilton District Court on Thursday by audiovisual link. The man who died was seriously injured in what police called a “family harm incident” at a Gordonton property on March 16, 2021. Police launched a homicide investigation after he died in hospital the next morning. When the defendant appeared on screen in court, his lawyer said he probably didn’t know about the latest charge, which the lawyers had only heard about the day before.

A coroner has found an Australian tourist murdered while on holiday visiting his fiancee died of shotgun wounds to his head and torso.
While Sean McKinnon s cause of death was revealed after his killer, Mark Garson, pleaded guilty to his murder last year, Coroner Donna Llewell was unable to release her official findings until after the criminal proceedings were completed in the High Court at Hamilton.

The 81-year-old has admitted the charge in the High Court at Hamilton today after he took his sick wife out of her aged care home last October.
A passerby saw him preparing in his car and contacted police, and the man was taken into custody.
The 80-year-old wife had suffered a severe stroke in August.
The man has interim name suppression until next month and will be sentenced in May.
