Two new cases of locally-acquired COVID-19 were announced on Thursday.
The two cases were in level two of the MCC Members’ Reserve, which had been attended by an infectious man in his 60s from Maribyrnong’s Ariele Apartments.
The infectious man visited Highpoint Shopping Centre on Friday, July 9, and the Carlton-Geelong match at the MCG on Saturday, July 10.
He attended the game with his friend from Barwon Heads, a teacher at Bacchus Marsh Grammar school, who has tested positive.
The man’s parents in Craigieburn, aged 89 and 90, have tested positive.
Victoria’s COVID commander Jeroen Weimar said the two new positive cases were not “known contacts of the other two positive cases we know were there”.
