MP Steve Baker A High Wycombe woman who harassed MP Steve Baker and staff at his constituency office has been given a suspended jail sentence. Margaret Bushay, 54, harassed the Wycombe MP’s staff members by sending unwanted messages and visiting the constituency office when she had been asked not to between October 14, 2019, and August 7, 2020. Bushay, of Bank Street in High Wycombe, was found guilty of two counts of harassment and was given a jail sentence of three months, suspended for 24 months, in a hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on March 5. She has also been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), lasting three years, which prevents her from contacting Mr Baker or any member of his staff in any way except for via letter sent to the House of Commons.
The council also prosecuted the establishment for failing to train its staff in proper food hygiene practices. Councillor Andrew McHugh, Lead Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “Local people want to know that if they order food for takeaway or home delivery, it has been safely and hygienically prepared. “To provide that confidence, we need to be making sure businesses have the information they need to follow the law and to be carrying out enforcement if they fall short. The gravity of these offences and the sheer level of pest activity meant that it was vital for us to take this case to court.
