Two individuals from Brunswick House First Nation are accused of providing the opioids which resulted in two fatal overdoses.
On Jan. 30, 2021, at approximately 6:30 a.m., members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a residence where a 35-year-old person was found unresponsive and was later pronounced deceased.

Then on Feb. 2, 2021, at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers performed a well-being check on a 55-year-old person and found them deceased inside their residence.
R.I.D.E. CHECK LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE
(WHITE RIVER, ON)
- On November 13, 2020, members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario
Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere
(RIDE) spot check on Elgin Street in White River.
Officers were conducting mandatory alcohol screening (MAS) on all vehicles
passing through the checkpoint. At approximately 10:20 p.m., an individual
operating an SUV registered a Fail on an Approved Screening Device
(ASD). The driver was arrested and brought to the Wawa OPP Detachment for
further testing.
