INDIANAPOLIS (WTWO/WAWV) The Duke Energy Foundation on Tuesday approved 22 grants totaling $312,000 to support K-12 education across Indiana, with more than $70,000 coming to the Wabash Valley.
Grant recipients range from reading and STEM programs at local schools to educational camps offered by local organizations and colleges.
Duke Energy manager Rick Burger said these grants are important. That s the future of our workforce, not just Duke Energy but the workforce in our communities that we serve and we live in, he said. It s so important to keep these kids engaged and challenged, so we re preparing for the future of the workforce not just today but for the future too.
