Teenager Dies in Eastern Iowa Pickup Accident
A one-vehicle accident in Eastern Iowa has taken the life of a Jones County teenager.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, it happened just before 3pm Monday (June 21), southeast of Anamosa, near the Hale Wildlife Area.
A pickup driven by 16 year old Lincoln John Gravel of Wyoming, was eastbound on County Road E-45, when he lost control and the vehicle dropped onto the shoulder.

Gravel was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident is still under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Jones County Sheriff, Iowa DNR, Wyoming Fire-Ambulance, Lifeguard Air Ambulance, and Anamosa Ambulance.
Linn County Man Airlifted To Iowa City After Accident In Fairfax
A Monday evening accident in Fairfax left a man with serious injuries.
According to a media release from the Linn County Sheriff s Office, 63-year-old Rex Hamilton of Marion was heading north on Williams Blvd./Highway 151 near Prairie Avenue in Fairfax just before 8:30 Monday night, April 26. The trailer Hamilton was pulling hit a construction barrier. That caused a piece of paving equipment on the trailer to come off. It ended up in the southbound lane of Williams Blvd.
25-year-old Jordan Brown of Fairfax was driving a motorcycle on the southbound side of Williams Blvd/Highway 151 and hit the equipment that had come off of the trailer. Brown then lost control of the motorcycle and went down.

Blown Tire Puts Truck into a Creek
A blown front tire is apparently the cause of a weekend accident, that put a utility truck into a creek.
Just after 1pm Saturday (Jan. 9), Linn County authorities were sent to an accident scene along Highway 151, east of Marion. A vehicle reportedly went off the road and rolled, coming to rest in a body of water.
The utility truck, driven by 56 year old Daniel Utecht of Campbellsport, Wisconsin, went out of control, entered a ditch, then rolled onto it s side, stopping when it entered a body of water.
The truck came to a halt before going under the water. Utecht was extricated from the vehicle, evaluated, and determined to be uninjured.
