No fresh coronavirus cases in 180 districts in a week: Government

No fresh COVID-19 cases have been detected in 180 districts in the country in the last seven days, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Saturday.

While 1,70,841 COVID patients across the country are on ventilator, as many as 9,02,291 patients are on oxygen support, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Saturday.
In his virtual address at the 25th meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) to discuss the pandemic situation, the minister said that 1.34 percent of COVID caseload was in ICU, 0.39 percent of cases were on ventilators and 3.70 percent COVID patients were on oxygen support.
He said that across the country, the number of patients in ICU beds is 4,88,861 while 1,70,841 patients were on ventilators and 9,02,291 patients were on oxygen support.
The Prime Minister was given a detailed picture of the
COVID-19 outbreak in various states and districts, and was informed about the 12 states which have more than 1 lakh active cases, the PMO said.
He was also apprised about the districts with a high burden of the disease, the statement said. PM Modi reviewed the progress of vaccination and the roadmap for scaling up the production of vaccines in the next few months.
During the comprehensive review of the
COVID-19 related situation in the country, the prime minister was informed that around 17.7 crore vaccines have been supplied to the states.
PM Modi also reviewed state-wise trends on vaccine wastage, the statement said. Citizens should be facilitated for vaccination despite lockdowns and healthcare workers involved in inoculation must not be diverted for other duties, the Prime Minister said.
Need to sensitise states that speed of vaccination doesn t come down: PM
New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday undertook a comprehensive review of the COVID-19 related situation in the country and stressed the need to sensitise states that the speed of vaccination doesn t come down.
Mr Modi reviewed the progress on vaccination and the roadmap for scaling up production of vaccines in the next few months. He was informed that around 17.7 crore vaccines have been supplied to the states.
The Prime Minister also reviewed the state wise trends on vaccine wastage. Mr Modi was briefed that around 31 per cent of eligible population over the age of 45 has been given atleast one dose.
