Picture: SAMUEL TEI ADANO Organised Labour has described the decision by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to freeze the 2021 wage increment for the executive branch of government for this year as a positive move. The Trades Union Congress (TUC), the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL) and the Industrial and Commercial Workers (ICU), were in agreement that regardless of the quantum of the amount, it was a good signal and an indication that the country was not out of the woods yet, in view of the ravages of the COVID-19 on the socio-economic life of the country.

NPP, NDC MPs clash over COCOBOD’s LBCs payment LISTEN Kofi Adams Members of the Majority in Parliament, on Wednesday, chided hardline opposition NDC MPs for attempting to indict the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) with suggestions that it had failed to pay Licenced Buying Companies (LBCs) for the 2020/21 crop season. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for Buem, Kofi Iddie Adams, had told the House while delivering a statement that despite the $1.3 billion facility secured by COCOBOD to make upfront payment for cocoa beans purchased from farmers, the board had failed to release funds to the LBCs to enable them pay the farmers.
