Rep. Van Drew Dismisses Democrats’ Call to Remove Some GOP Members From Congress
Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.) on Tuesday dismissed some Democrats’ call to unseat him and other Republican representatives from Congress because they supported the Texas lawsuit challenging the election results in four key states.
“The notion that after the people voted for me that I couldn’t sit in, you know, the House of Representatives, that you would literally disenfranchise my voters in my district is an absurd notion,” Van Drew told Fox News.
“I guess it’s because we support the president. And I guess it’s because we were worried about election integrity,” he added. “Regardless of the issue with the president, we need to ensure that we have the highest level of integrity in our elections.”

WASHINGTON The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday turned aside a Texas lawsuit that sought to derail the presidential election results from four battleground states, despite pressure on the justices from President Donald Trump on social media.
Subscribe Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections, according to the unsigned court order. All other pending motions are dismissed as moot.
Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, a Republican, joined with 17 other GOP attorneys general to file a brief in support of the lawsuit, the second time he has gotten involved in a long-shot lawsuit seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
One New Jersey Democrat is leading the push.
