(WWNY) - An investigation that had been underway for several months has ended with an arrest and the seizure of hundreds of pounds of marijuana and more than $1 million in cash. Members of the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force raided a home at 25871 County Route 59 in the town of Brownville on Wednesday. Officials arrested 46 year old Jerry Segouin, who lives at that address. During the search of Segouin’s home as well as a nearby property belonging to a relative, officials seized approximately 288 pounds of marijuana, a 12 gauge shotgun, a .22 caliber rifle, and approximately $1.35 million in cash (see photos below). According to officials, $700,00 of that cash was being stored in a beverage cooler.

(WWNY) - When police went to arrest a Watertown man on an unrelated charge, they allegedly spotted what appeared to be meth-making equipment and an illegal assault rifle magazine. Members of the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force say they were called to assist Watertown patrol officers at the 661 Factory Street apartment of 41-year-old Justin Stiles. After getting a search warrant, police say they found meth-making materials, about four ounces of a liquid containing meth, and a 30-round assault rifle magazine.

(WWNY) - A Watertown man was charged after police allegedly found drugs and cash in his apartment. Members of the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force say they raided a lower apartment at 118 South Pleasant Street Monday morning. Forty-two-year-old Steven Rogers was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a search yielded 1.3 pounds of marijuana, 30 grams of methamphetamine, $4,145 in cash, a money-counting machine, digital scales, and packaging material. One drug task force officer told 7 News the money-counting machine may indicate an operation that was bringing in a substantial amount of cash.
